Juan Moreno Jiménez was born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1862 and died in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in 1946 He became a singer in Lebrija, where he created his own style of 'soleá´ after having listened to La Serneta in Utrera, where he did his military service He was a strange singer, dedicated to working in the countryside He lived in a shanty house in El Cuervo and didn´t like being accompanied by a guitar, for which reason he accompanied himself rapping his knuckle
