The German-Spanish Astronomical Centre at Calar Alto (CAHA) is located in the Sierra de Los Filabres, north of Almería, and is operated jointly by the Max-Planck-Institut für Astronomie (MPIA) in Heidelberg, Germany, and the Andalusian Astrophysics Institute (CSIC) in Granada.

It comprises three domes housing many telescopes, various buildings of laboratories, workshops, offices and accommodation for professional and scientific staff. The three reflector telescopes have apertures between 1.23 metres to 3.5 metres in diameter (the largest telescope in continental Europe)

Daytime visits and night astronomy sessions from 2 to 5 hours duration.
