Villatorres
This municipality belongs to the Jaen district and is made up of three separate villages (Villargordo, Vados de Torralba and Torrequebradilla) united for administrative purposes, although the official institutions are in the first.
Its landscape is dominated by cereal fields and olive groves.
History
In 1975 the villages of Villargordo and Torrequebradilla were united for administrative purposes.Some Roman remains have been found in Villargordo"s district. In 1555, Don Fernando de Torres y Portugal donated a farm to this village to be used as pasture.
Torrequebradilla was the head of the marquisate of the same name.
The denomination of both villages was the origin of the place name Villatorres.
