Villardompardo
This village is situated to the west of the capital, in the countryside next to the Salado de Los Villares river. The main feature of its landscape is the olive tree.
History
During the al-Andalus period it was a farmhouse.King Fernando III conquered the village in 1245 and gave it to one of his knights, Villar de D. Pardo, who gave it his name and repopulated it.
It was later destroyed, and its population dispersed, in one of the skirmishes between Christians and Muslims due to its location on the border of the Granada and Jaen Kingdoms.
In 1371, King Enrique III gave it to the estate of Don Pedro Ruiz de Torres.
King Felipe II turned the old estate into an earldom in 1558.
It finally became the property of the Marqueses de Belgida.
