Nacimiento de El Chorro
Located in Villanueva del Rosario, at Nacimiento de El Chorro you will find the source of the water that supplies the town. It is considered as a heavenly place during the rainy season, especially in autumn and spring.
Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de Camarolos and near the source of the Cerezo River, one of the tributaries of the Guadalhorce River, here you will find numerous fig trees as you ascend the mountains. During the seasons with high rainfall you can usually see the so-called "cola de caballo" (horse's tail), that is produced when there is a higher water level and the water surges between the stones of the mountains at a considerable height.
This place is well-prepared with tables and wooden benches you can use to comfortably enjoy the surroundings.
In the vicinity you will find Virgen Nuestra Señora del Rosario Shrine, which is a simple architectural construction dedicated to the patron saint of the town. It is situated between the Nacimiento and Hondonero spaces, and it is an access point for El Chorro Natural Space.
