Historical Mines of La Reunión
The Historical Mines of La Reunión consists of the residential and industrial mining installations which were founded at the beginning of the 17th century and reached their maximum development and splendour at the end of the 19th century and first half of the last century, before entering into decline in recent times.
These installations consist of an urban residential area, in colonial style with regionalist features, covering 108 hectares, an area with industrial installations and the slag heaps. It was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in March 2002.
