Enjoy the numerous activities scheduled to celebrate the Andalusia Craft Cheese Tourism Fair, to be held in Villaluenga del Rosario.
Andalucía is the Spanish Region with the greatest variety of craft cheeses, made by many small and medium-sized companies, using the milk of 5 indigenous breeds of goat: the Murciano - Granada, Malaga, the Payoya, the Florida, and the Sierra Blanca, and milk from 3 breeds of sheep: the Merina Grazalema, the Merina and the Segureña.
The varieties of cheeses made in the Sierra de Cádiz are proud of being strictly craft products. The methods used for their manufacture have been directly inherited from traditional methods put into practice by shepherds in this part of the province of Cádiz.
In this area there is a wealth of sheep and goat breeding, where the animals are able to graze in this privileged area of the Sierra de Cadiz, where the mountain pastures are first rate and form the basis of the food supply for the indigenous livestock.
As always, in addition to the exhibitors, tasting and sale of products, the fair includes a complementary programme of activities focussing on cheese, including workshops, activities for children, a play centre and a visit to the Cheese Museum.
