Puente de Hierro del Guadalquivir (siglo XX)
The Puente del Hierro (Iron Bridge) ceased carrying motor vehicles coming in and out of the town, and has become one of the most attractive and popular pedestrian areas, used by residents and visitors to Villafranca de Córdoba. The bridge is the view that welcomes people when they enter the town.
During the day its has an attractive red colour, but at night it is lit up in blue tones, which makes it one of the most photographed features in the town.
Built at the beginning of the 20th century, it served to allow heavy goods to pass through for the construction of the Guadalmellato Reservoir, as well as to alleviate the traffic of goods and people made by the old barges of Villafranca.
Free admission.
Open all year round, there are no time restrictions for visiting.
It is associated with the Fuente del Río Riverside Park, which has a recreational area and parking.
