Refugios de la Guerra Civil

Located in the municipality ofVillacarrillo, next to the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Civil War shelters are anti-aircraft shelters, with three entrances: one on Plaza del Pozuelo, one on Calle Iglesia and a third on the north wall of the old food market (current entrance).

They are 287 metres long and mostly run below the Parish Church of the Assumption.

The vaulted galleries are 2 metres high by 1.20 wide. There are 40 cm holes along the ceiling, which served to extract the excavated soil that was piled up in the temple, using lathes.
