Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación
Built in Vera during the first half of the 16th century, the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación has a unique Mudejar Andalusian structure, and for its character as a fortress in order to fulfil the defensive role that it was obliged to play: the area was a Christian enclave surrounded by a Moors converted to Christianity and threatened by the Berber who came from the sea.
In late-Gothic style, the highlight is the Baroque decoration in the interior. Prominent features are the late 18th century, Canadian pine main altarpiece, and the altarpiece of the Virgen de la Victoria, located in the Main Chapel which has references to the preoccupation for the danger of attacks from Moors.
