La Cañada del Capitán is a young company, excited about bringing freshness and creativity to a traditional profession, always produced artisanally. The company was founded in October 2015 by a young couple, Melania Ruiz and Fran Campos. Both of them bring innovation, training and experience to the project in order to create new products adapted to the new consumer profile, but always with respect for artisanal production and traditional flavours.   

La Cañada del Capitán is the first artisanal goat's milk cheese factory located in Vélez-Malaga, in the Axarquía region. In their cheese factory, they exclusively use milk from local farms in this region, specifically from the Malaga Mountain Livestock Farmers' Association. The cheeses are made using traditional artisan methods and are moulded by hand, giving them a special touch that is difficult to achieve using mechanical methods.   

At the factory, they host visits and tastings of all of their varieties of cheese. Take this excellent opportunity to learn the story of a young entrepreneurial couple who decided to return to their roots and share with us the finest traditional cheeses of Malaga.
