Trops

Located in Vélez Málaga, this region of La Axarquía, SAT the 2803 Trops offers tours to its facilities to show visitors the Culture of Tropical Produce, and, likewise, encourage industrial tourism in the province of Malaga.

Trops is an organisation of tropical fruit producers, mainly avocado and mango, which since 1979 commercialise fruit worldwide, mostly in Europe. A company that operates in international markets, successfully competing at very high service and quality levels. With 20,000 m² of installations, a classification, selection and packaging plant incorporates the latest technologies in different areas of fruit processing.

Visits are held throughout the year, although the time of production covers September to May (in September and October, the mango campaign, and as of November, the avocado campaign).

It is a tour of its facilities, accompanied by audiovisual material. Later, you can see the production floor from the inspection gateway. Once the visit is completed, you can pass the top-class shop where you can find fruit as well as local and regional produce, especially selected for you.

The visit can be customised upon request, adding: tasting of products, breakfast and/or lunch and visit to one of the production estates.

Timetable: Monday-Friday, from 9 am to 2 pm; prior booking required. Groups of 8-50 people. We will offer the visit in Spanish, but visits of foreign tourists in any language will be given if they are accompanied by a translator. The visit with video lasts around 45 min. (Without video, between 20-25 min.) The price of the visit is €1.50/person. With fruit tasting, €2.50/person. You can add breakfast (approx. €3/person) or lunch with tropical menu (approx. €10/person). The facilities are fully accessible, with bathrooms in the hall and the first floor, adjacent to the screening room. Accessible to the disabled, there is lift to the first floor. In the adjoining facilities to the production plant, it has restaurant services, meeting rooms, petrol station and a gourmet product shop.
