Carnival in Vejer de la Frontera

Carnival in Vejer is one of the town's most important festivities. Although it may be true that there are not many carnival groups, everybody takes an interest in which group comes first, second… and in the folk songs that each group sings on themes relating to the town.

The festival takes place one week after the start of Carnival in Cadiz, so the Sunday Procession is attended by people from all the neighbouring towns and villages, making it one of the main attractions in the province.

The main attractions of the Vejer carnival programme are:

Competition for groups in the San Francisco Theatre, popular thistle "Tortilla", the Santa Esquina Festival, Comedy Parade, and many other activities.
