Las Chorreras

Of all the natural areas in the Sierra Sur, possible one of the most beautiful and magical is the area known as Las Chorreras, in Valdepeñas de Jaén. An area which is lush, and imbued with a certain mystery and peace.

Water is one of the most striking and abundant resources in this municipality and it plays a leading role in Las Chorreras. The water flows down fiercely, creates small pools and tumbles over beautiful waterfalls. The greatest of them is over 20 metres.

You can reach the area from the town along a path and wooden walkways. The area is indescribably magical and is part of the Sierra Sur Route of the Miracles, largely due to the esoteric nature of some of the springs, together with the springs in the San Juan and Río Frío Rivers respectively.
