The village is situated to the south of the province, next to the Viboras river, between the Sierras del Trigo and La Grana mountains. The only monuments of interest are the Church of Santiago and the Chapel of the Santo Cristo de Chircales.

History

The village began in 1539 in the place known as los Osarios. [.....] in which King Carlos V was forced to take part, naming a judge and a commission for this purpose, at Jaen"s refusal to do so. Several years later, it was given the title of Village.
It was for a long time head of district for Campillo, Arenas, Mancha Real and Los Villares.
