Palacio de la Rambla Hotel
The Hotel Palacio de la Rambla is a historic, 16th century palace belonging to the Meneses de Orozco family and it has been inhabited continuously by its owners until the present day. Here you will find modern creature comforts combined with the peace and quiet of the past, all in intimate, historic surroundings. All the lounges and rooms conserve a refined, aristocratic atmosphere, helped by their décor, with esparto grass matting and ceramics from Úbeda. In the centre of the building there is an interior patio, attributed to Andrés Vandelvira (maximum exponent of the Andalusian Renaissance).
The Hotel Palacio de la Rambla located in the historical town centre of Úbeda, 50 km from Jaén. It is a delightful Renaissance city, declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO together with Baeza, close to the Guadalquivir River, and it features a courtly, exquisite atmosphere, with lavish origins in the stone and bronze age. It is also one of the most important olive-growing areas in Spain. The hotel does not have a restaurant but the culinary offer in Úbeda is varied and of very high quality.
There is a saying that Úbeda is "The Renaissance that looks south". Its main features include the Sacra Capilla del Salvador, the Hospital de Santiago and the Palacio de las Cadenas (the 3 monuments created by Andrés de Vandelvira), linked to the secretary of Emperor Charles V, Francisco de los Cobos, and to Úbeda, which was the last resting place of San Juan de la Cruz.
