The Álvar Fáñez is a family-run hotel located in the heart of the historical centre of the World Heritage city of Úbeda, in the province of Jaén.
There are 13 cosy, soundproofed, fully-equipped, elegant rooms with antique wooden furniture.
The hotel was previously a school and the living quarters for the Civil Guard and the facilities include a social lounge-terrace, a cafeteria and an area for holding events.
The building dates back to 1865 and some of the original architectural features still remain, such as stone walls, columns and marble flooring, combined with more modern installations but still maintaining the original character of the building.
