Tomares
Municipality of the Aljarafe region, located to the west of the city of Seville, which has become a residential AREA for people fleeing from the big city in search of more peaceful living conditions. The only monument of interest is the parish church Nuestra Señora de Belén.
History
The first known human settlements date back to prehistoric times. Remains from the late Bronze Age have been found.The origin of the town is Roman.
At the time of Al-Andalus it was an important farmstead.
Together with other towns and villages of the Aljarafe region, in 1627 it was bought by the conde-duque de Olivares, Gaspar de Guzmán.
