Torre Guadalmesí
In the district of Tarifa, Torre Guadalmesí forms part of the system of watchtowers and defence that exist along the Coast of Trafalgar, built in the 16th century by order of Philip II.
Its location, next to the mouth of the Guadalmesí river, helped in controlling the Strait and prevented the numerous enemy vessels that sailed these seas from getting supplies of water from the Guadalmesí river.
Torre Guadalmesí is built of stone, and is circular with a diameter of 12 metres and a height of 15 metres.
Free admission.
