Almería Solar Platform

Here you can learn first-hand about the research projects that are currently underway in the following units:   

• Concentrating solar systems for the production of photovoltaic electrical energy 
• Solar desalination
• Solar water treatment
• Study of materials
• Energy efficiency in buildings

The Almería Solar Platform is currently considered to be a worldwide benchmark in the above-mentioned research areas, which is why it is visited every year by numerous groups of university students, schoolchildren, company delegations and tourists looking to get first-hand knowledge of technical developments in solar energy and its applications. 

The tour takes about an hour and a half and includes showing a short video in the auditorium that seats 110 people. 

Visits always need to be pre-booked by telephone (950 387 990) or by e-mail on visitas@psa.es and they can be made from Monday to Friday with possible visits at the weekend.
