Urrá is just a 5-minute drive from Sorbas and consists of a farmhouse that is surrounded by nature, secluded but well connected. The farmhouses are equipped as Rural Accommodation and a Field Centre. They are an ideal place to stay for a few days to learn about and study the flora, fauna and geology of the area, enjoy sporting activities such as hiking and potholing in the Yesos de Sorbas karst caves and other activities like bird-watching and star-gazing. The farmhouses have different capacities and can sleep from small to large groups and meals can also be included.

The "Cortijo Rural Urrá" has double rooms, all with a private bathroom with bathtub, the bedrooms on the first floor also have a kitchen, dining room and living room so they are ideal as apartments. This farmhouse also has a large lounge with a kitchen and is available for all kinds of events.

The "Urra Field Centre" has rooms for two or more people with bunk beds and shared bathrooms, and it is a benchmark for groups of university students making field trips in Almería.

The "Casa Linda" is a little house with just one bedroom. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine.

Urrá started out as a farmhouse used as a Field Study Centre in 1990. In 2003 the other farmhouses were added as Rural Accommodation. In 2020 some of the facilities were refurbished and improved so as to provide up-to-date services.

Cortijos Urrá is now a rural and nature tourism complex that can accommodate groups of up to 100 people. It is ideal for studying nature, courses relating to environmental sciences, adventure sports or just to get away from it all and connect with nature.

The outdoor facilities at Cortijos Urrá are available for groups looking to undertake activities in the open air, in an unusual but spectacular landscape where you can organise group get-togethers, family gatherings, nature workshops and active tourism.

The location, privacy and exclusivity of Cortijos Urrá make it ideal for holding events and celebrations. There are a number of different areas: The large lounge in the Cortijo Rural, the dining room lounges in the Field Centre the outdoor patio and especially the "Era" or threshing floor that was paved in 1884.

The Urrá estate in which the farmhouses are located covers over 90 hectares and lies completely within the Yesos de Sorbas Karst natural protected area renowned for the spectacular caves resulting from the erosion of the crystalline gypsum rock by water. The karst exterior features the abandoned groups of farmhouses of El Marchalico de las Viñicas, El Tesoro and El Hueli. Another highlight is the Molinos del Río Aguas natural spring and the Los Molinos neighbourhood, converted into an eco-village under a number of preservation and life in nature projects.

Urrá is strategically located so with a half-hour drive you will find the most important geological formations in the province of Almería, the volcanic area of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Nature Reserve and the badlands of the Desierto de Tabernas Nature Area. Within the same distance you will also find the Sierra de los Filabres mountains, the Carboneras fault and even the Costa Vera and Costa Mojácar.
