The Cumbre del Cambrón Trail - PR-A 173 links the Dehesa del Oso recreational area with the Cambrón summit, a stone mass whose walls rise almost vertically over a sea of pines, in the far north of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park.

In the Dehesa del Oso (whose name evokes the presence of this animal in the area up until the mid-18th century) there is a gushing fountain, stone tables, small meadows and beautiful walnut trees.

The path climbs gently up a narrow forest track, in the middle of a dense forest of black pine with abundant holm oaks and some Portuguese oaks, from where you can enjoy impressive views ranging from the Onsares valley to the Calar del Mundo, the valley of the head of the Guadalimar and Sierra de Alcaraz, in Albacete.

At the end it climbs up a shepherd's footpath which opens up between the rocks, to reach the imposing stone platform of the Calar, a typical karstic landscape of limestone pavement with some hollows, in which only a few isolated black pines dare to grow (a strange phenomenon, since in these environments there is always another species, the Corsican pine).

From the forest fire monitoring hut there is a superb panoramic view stretching from the plains of La Mancha, to Ciudad Real and Albacete, to the Sierra Nevada. Crossing to the other end of the Calar there is another hut belonging to Castile-La Mancha.

The area is full of crag martins and choughs, and we can see the flight of griffon vultures and peregrine falcons.
