Rama Flamenca is one of the most traditional activities carried out by La Oliva Association and has been going since the early 1980s.
Flamenco is a very rich cultural expression that is much more than just folklore, because it evolves and is constantly renewing itself, without forgetting its origins. It is a tree with strong roots and leaves of different sizes, and in order for that tree to stay alive, everyone, both artists and fans, like us, need to continue taking care of it, as it has been designated World Intangible Cultural Heritage.
At Rama Flamenca we do our bit to encourage people to love the different sides of flamenco. Many activities have been carried out over the years, with performances by "cantaores" (flamenco singers) in collaboration with other flamenco associations, and four-week Saeta competitions, sponsored by Seville City Hall, which usually attended the awards ceremony.
Rama Flamenca by La Oliva Association currently carries out singing, dancing and guitar workshops. They also hold flamenco evenings in the summer, and flamenco "zambomba" playing at Christmas.
