The Plaza de San Francisco has possibly been the heart of the city of Seville since the 16th century and considered to be the main square. This is where you will find the offices of the main civil bodies.
This square is where they dictated the famous sentences during the Inquisition, it is where bullfights were held and "Juegos de Cañas" or mock battles. It is currently one of the main places where the official processions are held at Easter and Corpus Christi
The interesting buildings located in this square include the Bank of Spain, the Bar Laredo building (Seville regional architecture), the Casa Arcenegui (Moderate Modernism and Renaissance), the old courtrooms and the City Hall (Plateresque architecture with figures representing important historical characters related to the city)
