Parque del Alamillo
The Alamillo Park is located in the northern part of the Isla de Cartuja, on the outskirts of the city of Seville, after crossing the Guadalquivir River on the Puente del Alamillo bridge. This large green lung allows you to discover and enjoy numerous outdoor sports and leisure activities and get in touch with nature. This area is very lively at weekends and popular with the locals for spending some nice family time, taking a stroll, relaxing or playing with the children far from motor vehicles.
The Alamillo Park occupies 120 hectares, which were reclaimed for the city to mark the celebration of Expo'92. It opened in1993 and it has the following areas:
The Cortijo del Alamillo is the nerve centre of the park. Inside, the Cortijo (farmhouse) has a large function room for over 150 people, which can be used by groups who request it and meet the requirements. It also has several work rooms and exhibition rooms, and it is the headquarters of the park's technical and management team, offering service and information for anybody who requests it. All of these rooms are set around an enormous courtyard, which can be used for different types of activities, such as theatre, cinema, workshops, music, etc. Every year the courtyard is home to the main events organised by the park itself, such as the Veranillos del Alamillo summer festival, the Día de Andalucía, etc.
