The Monument to Tolerance is located in the place called Muelle de la Sal. It used to cover small area between the Barcas Bridge and the Torre del Oro. It is called Muelle de la Sal because salt used to be unloaded here. It is a pedestrian area that runs along the right bank of the river. 

This monument was made in 1992 by Eduardo Chillida, commissioned by the City Council, in collaboration with the Regional Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Andalusian Government, and sponsored by the "Amigos de Sefarad" Foundation. An abstract sculpture made of concrete. It is made up of a curved central part with two arms.
