The Capilla de San Onofre or de las Ánimas is located in the Plaza Nueva, and is all that remains of what was the Convent of Casa Grande de San Francisco, that occupied all the square until the 19th century.
It may be small but it houses important works of art. The artists who worked for this chapel featured Bernardo Simón de Pineda, Pedro Roldán, Cayetano de Acosta, Juan Martínez Montañés, Francisco Pacheco and Juan del Espinal.
It is open to worship 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and here the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is held.
