Casa de la Memoria
In Seville, located in what used to be the Stables of the Lebrija Palace (16th century), the Casa de la Memoria is a cultural centre which organises performances by Flamenco artists, exhibitions, craft work sales etc. exploring the roots of traditional Flamenco and its history.
There are daily Flamenco performances and as they have a team of more than 35 top-quality artists the show is guaranteed to be different every day. There is also has an exhibition hall showing "Seville's Singing Cafés (1847-1939). From Silverio to the Tronío”.
On the ground-floor there is a flower-bedecked patio ideal for peace and relaxation which emulates those singing cafés. It is small and intimate and is where the performances take place. Two of the artists, the Flamenco singer Ana Real (La Macarrona) and the dancer Maribel Ramos “Zambra” (La Mejorana) are your guides and provide an evocative dramatisation.
