The objective of the order of the Carmelitas Descalzas in the Convent of the Santo Ángel is to display the convent's splendid library that possesses about 8,000 volumes dating from the 16th century to the present day.

The museum has three rooms that can be visited and two more for reading and consulting. The display also includes nearly 300 works of art, consisting of sculptures, paintings and lavish art from the 15th to the 20th centuries.

The collection of images of the Virgin and the Child Jesus is especially striking.

There are works by Cristóbal Ramos and Gómez de Sandoval, and woodcarvings attributed to Francisco de Ocampo, Pedro Roldán, La Roldana, Montes de Oca and Salzillo.
