Plaza de Toros de Segura de la Sierra
In Segura de la Sierra and set below the Castle, the bullring is the old arms and stable patio, one of the oldest and most unusual bullrings of Spain.
The first surprise is its square floor plan and lack of protective walls and stands, wherefore the entrance to bullfighting festivities is free. The foothills of Mount upon which the castle stands are used as the grandstand. Annexed to a tower with remains of the city wall, it is used as infirmary, originally one of the gateways to Segura.
The bullfights are held during the fiestas in honour of the Virgen del Rosario, specifically on October 6 and 8. It is worth seeing how the entire foothills are full of people to watch the professional and novice bullfighters during the bullfights.
Free access without charge.
