Jacinto Higueras Sculpture Museum
The Jacinto Higueras Sculpture Museum is located in a building that dates back to 1868, where municipal life took place for a century. The façade is made of reddish ashlar stone and has very beautiful wrought iron balconies. The museum's original works and documents were donated by the family of Jacinto Higueras Fuentes in 1963, in addition to the prizes from the International Sculpture Competition held in memory of the sculptor. The exhibition spaces are arranged around the building's two floors. On the lower floor there is a single room with well-defined spaces, where religious sculpture, exhibits about the sculptor's family and monuments are exhibited. On the upper floor there are two rooms, one displaying portraits made by the sculptor and the other the awards from the International Sculpture Competition. The permanent exhibition only allows visitors to see a portion of the considerable volume of work housed in the museum.
