The arch or portico of Saint Michael dates from the 15th-16th century. It formed part of the main entrance to the old and now lost monastery of San Miguel de Los Ángeles de Alpechín that belonged to the Hieronymite order, of which little information is available. The only surviving element from the monastery facade is this entrance arch, in the form of a gateway. It is crowned by a niche with a replica of the 15th-century statue of Saint Michael that is preserved in the town hall inside an urn with a stable temperature.
