Sanlúcar de Guadiana
Village situated on the border with Portugal, on the banks of the Guadiana, which it overlooks from its heights and from where it dominates the neighbouring country.
Its municipal area enjoys good hunting conditions. San Marcos Castle and the Parish Church are buildings of interest.
History
The Guzmans, lords of Sanlucar de Barrameda, came to these lands which they baptized with the same name as the above-mentioned village near the Guadalquivir and which was the domain of Medina Sidonia. It is a port in the middle if the Andevalo.
The great importance of Sanlucar de Guadiana is that it is a natural port which has provided access to the central plain from the Atlantic for many years, as demonstrated by the Castle of San Marcos.
