Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana

Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana in the centre of Sanlúcar de Barrameda is amongst the oldest in the Jerez area.

The business began in 1792, and has been passed down from parents to children since then. Today one of the few totally independent vintners in the area, Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana is controlled one hundred per cent by the family and managed by the fifth generation in a direct line from the founder.

Quality has been and is the fundamental factor for the company; it continues to use the traditional methods of ageing, which are a true craft, ageing the wines in American oak barrels and pouring them from one barrel to another in the old style.
