Cerro del Hierro
This place is famous for being one of the most picturesque and unique landscapes of the Sierra Norte of Seville and is also ideal for star-gazing. From the car park beside the visitor centre for this spot of environmental and geological interest, you can enjoy magnificent views of the stars.
It is easily accessible, just 500 metres from the town of the same name. The light in Seville bathes the whole of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla, although it is true that its influence is very slight in the northernmost locations in this sector of the Sierra Morena as in this case. Located at more than 70 km as the crow flies, the light only harms a tiny part of the S-SW horizon.
The sky towards the north and west is spectacular, in autumn and winter you can see the outer arms of the Milky Way with amazing clarity; in the north, the constellation of the Great Bear is easily visible throughout the year.
