Bodega Ron El Mondero

Since the 16th century, sugar cane cultivation has spread throughout this region. La Vega de Salobreña and Motril saw the prosperity and importance of this sweet fruit until 2006, when the last sugar factory in the region closed. It is within this historical context that Francisco Izquierdo, passionate about the history and culture of his town, founded the company, Bodegas El Mondero, in 2006.

At our facilities, we invite you to explore how the art of distillation blends with the rich heritage of sugar cane in this region, offering a unique experience that celebrates the history and flavour of rum.
