Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Rosario

The Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, located in the historic centre of Salobreña, built on the Muslim mosque, is Mudejar style from the 16th century.

The end dedicated to the Main Altar leads to the tower and the sacristy. At its feet is the high choir, supported by a simple framework of wooden beams. Worth highlighting is its side door, decorated with tiles and the slender Tower topped with typically Mudejar staggered battlements.

The ceiling which was originally coffered was destroyed by a fire on August 29, 1821. The reconstruction works lasted fifteen years.

The images include the image of the Virgin of the Rosary, which dates from the 16th century. 16th. Furthermore, the church was a Christian cemetery until 1789.
