Villa Romana de Salar
Located in the district of Salar, the Villa Romana de Salar lies to the right of highway A-4155, very near the junction with the A-92, specifically in a place called El Canuto, also known as the Revuelta de Enciso. Dated from the 1st to the 3rd century AD III and the 4th to the 6th century AD, it is a luxurious construction with rich mosaics and building materials which must have belonged to a rich trader or public official.
The excavation work and evaluation of Villa de Salar continues today, with the aim of discovering the true identity of the site and confirming the importance of this area in the province of Hispania Baetica, as well as the value of this town during the late imperial period, from the 1st to the 3rd century AD.
