Rumbas
Song of a folk music origin, with a 'copla' of four, usually six syllable, verses. It comes from Latin America and become popular in Andalucia in the era of the variety shows, moment in which the flamenco singers adapted the tempos to the 'tango'. One of the first in recording the 'rumba' was La Niña de los Peines. Afterwards other schools of this style have arisen, one in Cataluña - 'rumba catalana' - and another in Madrid - 'Caño Roto' -. El Pescaílla and Peret are the principal representatives of this style in Barcelona, whilst Manzanita is the best known 'rumbero' of the capital of Spain.
