Siles - Villarrodrigo Trail - PR-A 151
The Siles - Villarrodrigo Trail - PR-A 151 runs almost entirely along a forest track, and connects these two places, Siles and Villarrodrigo, crossing the valleys of the Guadalimar and its tributary the Onsares.
We will pass through a varied landscape of low and mid mountain, among olive groves and pine woods of Aleppo pine and abundant Mediterranean undergrowth, dotted with beautiful walnut trees, Portuguese oaks and stone pine trees. We can also see well-conserved river bank vegetation.
The route passes through the Dehesa del Oso recreation area, with a fountain and large walnut trees, from which you can begin the ascent of the Cambrón along a signposted path.
Also close by is the Bayona recreational area, which has a pool where you can cool off in summer.
Between the Dehesa del Oso and Villarrodrigo there are some long sections from which you can enjoy extensive views of the entire Natural Park, including the peaks of Banderillas, Mentiras, Puntal and the Yelmo, as well as Sierras de Alcaraz and Calar del Mundo, which belong to Albacete.
Close to Villarrodrigo you can see the last eastern foothills of the Sierra Morena and the transitional landscape made up of meadows.
There are many ravens, jays and crows, as well as wild boar. Around the Cambrón there is a colony of Griffon vultures.
