Sierra Morena Trail - GR 48
The Sierra Morena Trail - GR 48 starts in the district of Barrancos in Portugal and leads through public paths in the provinces of Huelva, Seville, Cordoba y Jaén, covering 571 km in 28 stages and one alternative route.
Designed to take us into six nature reserves of Andalusia, coinciding with green corridors that intercommunicate protected areas, historical and traditional paths. Landscapes where unspoilt Mediterranean forest and meadows predominate, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, dotted by patchworks of olive groves. A land where rare species coexist such as the Iberian lynx, wolves, black vultures and golden eagles. Villages with history where the people have integrated the values of nature into their own way of life.
