Cortegana – Jabugo - PR-A 4 Trail
The Cortegana – Jabugo - PR-A 4 Trail starts at the end of Calle Sevilla street in Cortegana. After Carabaña hill, it leads down to the N-433 and, on the right, reaches the Almonaster - Cortegana railway crossing. A little further on, it reaches the La Canaleja (Amonaster la Real) junction, where we turn left. Almost the entire section to La Canaleja runs along a paved road, so you can also set out from this village or from the Almonaster - Cortegana Railway Station.
Upon reaching the village of La Canaleja and after crossing the railway line, we continue for a few metres more to the left along a narrow street. We carry on down a little before crossing a stream. We now start up a cobbled section and turns left between stone walls.
Arriving at the top, the path joins a track leading from an estate, to the right, leading down. We pass a junction and continue straight on. We cross a ravine and continue straight on to the village of Los Romeros (Jabugo)
"El Valle Florido de Los Romeros”, as named by the Álvarez Quintero brothers, is surrounded by beautiful cherry trees, ancient chestnut trees, holm oaks and cork trees. From the public laundry, we take the road to the left and, some three hundred metres further on, take a track coming from our right, with a sign to Finca la Silladilla.
Continuing up the path, we pass by the aforementioned estate, then down to a ravine, which we cross. A little further on we reach a crossroads where we turn right, alongside the ravine.
The path starts to go up and we leave another coming from the right, next to a house. Continuing on up, we enter the town of Jabugo, ending the trail at El Llano, now Plaza de la Constitución square.
