The Cortegana - Almonaster la Real - PR-A 5 Trail starts by one of the walls of the Cortegana bullring, where there is a sign marking its starting point. After a short uphill stretch, we reach a viewpoint called Mirador de Santa Bárbara, where we can enjoy a panoramic view of the town and the outline of Castle.

The path continues up, becoming narrow and more demanding, shaded by the cork, chestnut and holm oak trees of surrounding farms. Shortly, our climb ends and we walk down a steep slope that soon becomes less pronounced. Here the path is worse due to the effects of rainwater erosion, then becoming a cattle trail running through an area of pastureland.

It then crosses the Las Vegas ravine, after crossing a small watercourse, and we reach the village of El Cincho (Almonaster La Real), a small village of inhabited houses. The path now becomes a cemented track for traffic that leads to the H-8107 road and the village of El Acebuche, which we cross via an alleyway. Leaving the village behind, we continue down to the Huelva-Zafra railway line.

The path crosses the line and starts down to La Porrejona ravine, on our left, which we cross a few metres further on, then there is an uphill stretch following the signs for the PR-A 5 trail until joining the path coming from Las Veredas. We turn left and continue on until the road from Cortegana to Almonaster la Real. Here is the end of our trail, barely one kilometre from Almonaster.
