Júzcar – Pujerra Trail – PR-A 225
The Júzcar – Pujerra Trail – PR-A 225 starts in Júzcar, taking the track located as you leave the village towards Cartajima, where you will find a fountain on your right, we go down for about one and a half kilometres until we reach the bottom of the Genal River valley. There we can see the remains of an old bridge as well as the ruins of several flour mills including the Molino del Puente, the Molino de Enrique and the Molino de la Maquina.
On the way we'll be able to observe the riverbank vegetation and the various vegetable gardens located alongside the river bed. After crossing the river we then turn off to the left through a small gateway to start an ascent of about 300 metres.
Following the path we return to the track which we will follow until we cross the Genal river where we then take a new path through chestnut trees that leads to a crossroads where we turn off to the left before we cover the kilometre which separates us from the district of Pujerra, where we will see an old washhouse in the renowned Paraje La Cruz, a recreational area for the inhabitants and where the “Día de la Cruz” (Day of the Cross) is celebrated.
