Bodega La Melonera

Right in Serranía de Ronda and, in an unbeatable setting surrounded by ancient holm oaks, is Bodegas La Melonera. On an estate of around 190 hectares at altitudes ranging between 690 and 930 metres, there are up to 10 hectares of vineyards dotted with holm oaks and areas of native forest.

In spring 2003, La Melonera conceived a monumental work, a dream: recovering a wine-making tradition that was over 3000 years old for the region of Ronda. This project is based on two fundamental ideas: the recovery of historic varieties and the cultivation of excellence in wine-production in harmony with the characteristics of the land it is in.

The layout of the vineyards and the way in which the vines are grown combines a deep respect for organic agriculture with a variety of conditions that enormously enrich creative possibilities.
