The historic salt mine is managed by the University of Cadiz to improve its products, fleur de sel and artisanal salt, which have been achieved by recovering the natural flows of water from the ocean. It also offers environmental education and ecotourism, research and biodiversity conservation. There are guided tours to discover how economy and ecology can go hand in hand.
