The Hermitage of Vera-Cruz, located in Puente Genil, Cordoba, is a small temple of Mudejar origin dating back to 1613. Its construction was left unfinished, which explains its small size. Inside, it houses an 18th-century baroque altarpiece, the work of the Lucentine sculptor Pedro de Mena Gutiérrez. The hermitage also preserves images of the local Holy Week, such as Christ of the Column, the Virgin of Hope and the Virgin of the Cross. It is especially visited on Mondays by the faithful who pray before the effigy of Saint Nicholas of Bari.
