Observatorio Astronómico de La Sagra
The La Sagra Astronomy Observatory is located close to the town of Puebla de Don Fadrique, and it is run by the Mallorca Astronomy Observatory and the Astrophysics Institute of Andalusia, mainly in search and monitoring of small objects in our solar system. It is formed by a group of 45 cm telescopes.
Opposite an imposing 2384m high mass, the tourist resort of Los Collados has provided fully equipped facilities in collaboration with its operators.
The observatory overlooks La Sagra from a hill located at 1500m above sea level, about 500m from the restaurant and hotel. It is considered to be one of the areas on mainland Spain with the lowest levels of light contamination, which makes it the perfect place to enjoy sky observation.
The Los Collados tourist resort manages and coordinates visits from people and groups interested in enjoying the sky from the observatory, with three modules for telescopes and another for control.
