La Tiñosa

La Tiñosa is the highest point of the province of Córdoba, located at an altitude of 1,568 metres. The trail is linear but difficult, although you'll be rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the countryside and Sierra Nevada.

The tour of La Tiñosa takes in several endemic plant species and fascinating geological formations that emerged in different ages and contexts and have earned UNESCO global geopark status.

This trail starts in the village of Las Lagunillas at an altitude of 810 metres and continues through the heart of the Sierra Horconera, home to a forest of ancient holm and gall oaks. The trail includes a particularly demanding section between Puerto Mahína and the summit of La Tiñosa that is only suitable for experts. Eurasian griffon vultures frequently fly overhead and the path is dotted with the characteristic flowering broom shrubs. With its breathtaking scenery, the trail is one of the main attractions of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park.
