Pico de la Tiñosa
Located in Priego de Córdoba, Pico de La Tiñosa is the highest mountain in the province of Córdoba, rising to 1,570 metres above sea level.
The ascent takes in interesting landscapes and geological elements, as well as rocks formed during very different ages and contexts. These fascinating geographical features include the La Milanaspring, the Jarales radiolarites, the Torta Periglacial (a periglacial landform), and a cave known as the Cueva del Morrión. The route to the top also offers botanical treasures, such as a geobotanical island populated by plants and fungi that don't usually grow in this type of terrain.
The Torta Periglaciar can be seen in the distance from Chozas de Toledo, where there is an information panel.
Pico de la Tiñosa forms part of the Ammonite Route in the Sierras Subbéticas geopark.
